Question
i purchased a mickey mouse fish a month ago that has a belly full of eggs.  does she need to be insimunated by a male fish or does the presence of eggs indicate she will live bear soon?

Answer
Hi Leah,
By "mickey mouse fish", I suspect you mean a mickey mouse platy. They are livebearers.  One of the cool things about this type of fish is that the female can store sperm. So, she may have mated quite awhile ago, and that is all she needs to produce several batches of young.
