Guppy Fry

Hi i have 6 Guppy fry which are almost 8weeks old i was just wondering how long it takes untill they start to look like adults gain colour, and is there anyway to tell it a fry is male or female thanks kaitlyn

Hello,
It usually takes two months for the fry to become adults.  This depends on their living quarters, food, and water changes.  If they are raised in a tank with small space, it will take longer.  Water changes every day, and good food helps the fry grow bigger.  The males are more colourful than the females.  You should be seeing some colour soon.  It is possible that you have only females.  If so, they have very little colour.
