black knife fish

I have a 9 inch black knife fish and it seems to be having white sorta wiskers starting to come out of its mouth and side fin.  Just noticed it. There is one other fish in the tank and its a leaf fish. 30 gallaon tank. cleaned regularly. Fish isn't acting right!  What do you think

It could be a parasite. Is there a chance that you can upload a picture of this fish. How many of these do you see? Is the fish scraping itself on the gravel kinda like trying to scratch itself? If possible give me as much detail about this as you can so that I can direct you to the right medication and treatment. The reasons I am asking for more information is that it is hard for me to tell since I am not there looking at the fish and that the less treatments we can give the fish the better it is for him. I will wait to hear back from you.
