Question
TARA: The parents are doing a fine job feeding 4 seemingly healthy chicks they are now 21 days old. I would like to take 2 chicks out to hand feed first then maybe later take the other 2. I have hand feed before and have the time and patients to do so, I have Handel the chicks and the hen is very tame and doesn't mind. what do you think please reply. thank you STEVE

Answer
Hello, take all the chicks and handfeed them. Wait much longer and they wont become very tame as most breeders remove the chicks for hand feeding at 10 to 14 days for the best results. Handfed babies are easier to rehome later on also, the birds will likely go back to nest a little while after the babies are removed if you dont want this remove the box with the chicks. Best of luck with the little ones.
