new bird falling in cage

Question
We recently purchased a green cheek conure and this is our first day with him and he has fallen to the bottom of the cage twice.  What should we do - we are afraid he can hurt himself.  Please advise.

It seems this is a common thing with pet parrots.

I would ignore this for a couple of days, and see what happens. If it continues, as it did a couple of days earlier, I would call a vet. Where did you buy this bird from? If you bought it from a petstore, which is the worst place you can buy a bird from, then chances are it is not use to the cage. Your bird is not use to the perches, and it will take time for him to get use to the cage.
