Pulling Back

I have an 11 year old Appaloosa gelding that pulls back when tied. I have had him for about a year and he has been doing this since the first day. How can i stop this unwanted behavior?

I wanted to thank you for your question and give you some advice, but unfortunately I can't tell you how to fix this problem.

A horse that pulls back constantly (especially if its been happening for over a year) can be a very dangerous animal. The absolute best thing you can do is find a professional trainer to help you with this.

Honestly, I've never taught a horse to not pull back... I've always seeked the help of others with this because it is such a dangerous issue.

Please be careful and seek some help from a knowledgeable source.
