Pushy Horse - DANGEROUS

Question
Hello I have a 12 year old paint gelding. He is very very pushy when he wants something. Sometime's if he's annoyed he'll randomly trot away and drag you next to him. I try a chain and it works fairly well, though i do not want to always have to keep this on him. Ive had him for 4 years, do you have any suggestions on what to do. I've tried spending time working on ground manners. Should i continue with it? He can get dangerous sometimes when he takes off at a trot. He never rears or tries to bite you. Just loves to drag you around and walk fast near you.

Answer
Hi Vanessa,
You sound as though you have really worked with your horse long and hard. It this point since the behavior is still there, I would check into hiring a professional Trainer to work with him. In the meantime, just continue his ground work and make sure that you are incorporating lots of walk, trot and stop work while he is on a lunge lead. For safety, you might want to lead him with a bridle for extra support.
