Question
hello, what are the advantages of learning bareback riding? would you advice me to learn bareback riding after i become a perfect rider to become a show jumping rider? for how long should i learn bareback riding, i mean for 45days for 2 months?

Answer
Riding bareback can help in balancing a rider on a horse.

It is important not to grip with your knees when you ride.
Your basic position should remain the same.

No one is a perfect rider, by the way.......learning to ride is a lifelong goal.
I have been riding most of my life and I am careful to continue with lessons whenever I can.

You can ride bareback off and on throughout your riding career.

If you can find someone to lunge you on a good lungeing horse....eventually without reins or stirrups, is the best way to get an independent seat.
