What is the proper amount of feed to give a horse in training for halter and conditioning?

Also what is best workout.

You want more protein when conditioning a horse for the show ring, then you work that into muscle and veins popping.

It depends on the weight, breed, etc just to how much protein, work with your feed dealer and add soy bean meal for extras.
