Question
I have a 9 month old filly that has started jumping off a foundation wall (25" drop) during play by herself.  I have seen her do this once last weekend and today 3 times.  She stands on the foundation and looks down and then jumps off.  She is also living with 3 goats that do the same thing and wonder if she is not getting this habit from them.  I am concerned that she may injure herself being so young.  She is a warmblood.    What do you think?

Answer
Well, my first response would be to block the area that she jumps off of. If you think it could be dangerous to her, remove the danger.

She may indeed be picking up that habit from her roommates, but it is up to you to control and/or stop it.

I honestly don't know what the area looks like, so I couldn't tell you exactly how much danger she is in. If it were my horse, I don't think I would worry about it if it was only 25" and footing was good and she doesn't full on JUMP. Again, I am not sure what the whole situation is with you and your filly though.

My advice would be to remove her from that area, if not possible, I am out of answers!
