Crabapples

Hi,
I have many crab apple trees near the paddock for my horse and all around my property. They do not make fruit, but are the leaves poisionous also? Thanks.

Good question. Knowledge of our horses environment is essential to optimal safety and performance.
To answer absolutely I would need to know the exact species of tree present then research the Ontario Federation of Agriculture data bank on Equine toxic plants.
I've never heard of crabapple leaves being poisonous. I doubt they are. Do they eat them? Lots? Your concern is legitimate but without more detailed info all I can offer is my opinion.
