Question
I have a VERY small 5 month old mini that walk on her tendon (I think that's
what you call it) Her hoof is startin to curl upwards> Is there a corrective shoe I
can purchase or any other recommendation? I can send photos later.

Answer
HELLO LILIA...Thanks for your question.

What it sounds like you are describing is a "laxed/tendon".
The fact she is 5 months old is great!! I have and she can be fixed IF that is all that is involved.

First, get an equine vet involved (lameness a specialty) to radiograph the limb. Dr Ric Redden/Kentucky sells what is known as a Dalric/Dalmer cuff. I have used them since 1987
with great success. They should be applied by a experienced
farrier or vet with knowledge of glu-on shoes.

Normally at that age, and the fact that her body weight is
light (in her favor)...the "cuff" will be changed every
4/5 weeks depending on hoof growth. I have had some, that healed after 10 weeks!! The "cuff" will keep the hoof capsule and pastern at the correct angle to allow the flexor tendons to withdraw/contract to the correct position.

You will be pleased...
If I can help in any other way...let me know.
Best of luck to you!!
