QuestionI know I already wrote you but I still have a few questions about my russian tort. The grunting noises I talked about earlier, how do I tell if they are noises in general or if they are respiratory noises. I noticed SOME of the noises are when he pulls his head back but not all of them.
Also, I've had him for two days now and he hasn't really eaten but a couole bites. How long before he eats normally and how often should he poop? I hope you can help me with all of these!! I really would appreciate it.
AnswerListen for a wheezing/bubbling, nasal discharge, etc. for respiratory issues.
Eating/defecating- give it a warm soak for a while. Many torts will defecate during the soak. In general, we would look for a BM every few days, and it should start eating normally after a couple weeks.
If it is not eating right pretty soon, double check temps and diet again at the http://www.russiantortoise.org site.
