Sugie with broken toe

Help, my male sugie has a broken toe. Its just hanging there.Its not discolored,so I assume it happened recently. Im pretty sure I figured out the culprit and I removed any other possible problem.Is there anything I can do for him @ home? I dont have alot of money for vet care. He also has a cold(the temp changed quickly and he got sick before I caught on).is there anything I can do for him for his cold? The poor baby is having a real bad week.It breaks my heart, but he is still eating,but he is favoring that foot with the broken toe.It didnt stop him from running like crazy on his wheel.Help!

Hi Lisa,

I am not a vet, so cannot offer you medical advice.  Please see a vet asap.  In the meantime, get some antibiotic ointment for his foot.  You can get it at any grocery store or drug store. Apply it generously on the toe.  The toe will most likely dry up and fall off.  You need to be sure that the wound doesn't become infected.  The vet can give you oral antibiotics.  Gliders are very hardy, and heal quickly.   

As for the cold, just keep him warm and out of drafts.  Be sure he has plenty of fresh water to drink.
