trip to the vet

Question
hi,

i have two pet rabbits that are very well-bonded.  the male was adopted from a shelter about a month ago, and him and my female get along great (they are both around 3 years and are are both altered).  i am taking him to the vet for a routine check-up and i was wondering if i should bring her along in the carrier as well. i thought that i should because it might make him less scared and apprehensive if she was there with him, but i'm not sure.  on the other hand i thought it might be worse because they will both be scared. the carrier is large enough for them both, so that is not an issue.  thanks!

Answer
I recommend taking both of them. I always take pairs to the vet when possible. The car ride and the waiting at the vet's office will be less scary with their partner around. Yes, it's stressful for the bunny who doesn't need to see the vet, but I've always felt it was worth it. And, in the unlucky event that a vet visit turns into a longer-than-expected one due to an emergency procedure needing to be done (this is unlikely but can happen), you'll be extra glad the buddy is there for comfort and "moral support." Good luck!
