Question
my bunny has just started making a squeeking sound every time i go out to feed him ,touch him, its so weird is he talking to me?

Answer
Dear Rachel,

If he's making a sort of grunting, whimpering sound, then yes, he's talking to you.  But what he's saying depends on the context of his message.

If your bunny is male and not neutered, he might be expressing his undying love and lust for you.  What else does he do when he makes the sound?  Does he come up eagerly, hunker down, or just stand and "talk?"

If your bunny is female, she could be having a false pregnancy and whimpering for you to not touch her.  If so, she needs to be spayed for her health:

Because you've now discovered how interactive and social your bunny is, I hope you will get him/her spayed/neutered and go to www.rabbit.org/ for information on how to litterbox train him and make him into a member of the family just like the dog or cat.  Rabbits are highly intelligent, social, and love to be with the family.  Ours sometimes sleep in bed with us!  Life in a lonely outdoor hutch is no way for a bunny to spend his time.  He needs interaction and love with you.  You'll really be happy you made this change in his and your life.

I hope this helps.  Please write back if you have any other questions.
