Question
I have two bunnies. I have noticed that both of them have flakes on the top of their head and near their ears. I have not seen them scratching more than regulary but i know this isnt right and i want to nip it in the bud. I forget wat its called but i think it might be a bug parasite or something. I have also noticced that my male bunny has started shedding his fur. He isnt missing patches of fur but i noticed his fu is gettin shorter. What is this rpoblem and how is it treated. I wil be taking htme to my rabbit but wanted ot know what your thoughts were.

Answer
Dear Amanda,

It is very likely that the flakes are caused by fur mites (Cheyletiella sp.), and these are easily and safely treated with Revolution (selamectin) from your vet:

You can find a good rabbit vet here:

I hope this helps.
