Change in urination pattern

Question
I have had my rabbit for almost 2 years now. Recently I have noticed that he is urinating far more than usual, he has no change in diet, or drinking habits, just the urination. I was wondering if this is a normal behavior, or if I should be concerned. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Answer
Dear BJ,

Excessive urination of dilute urine--especially if accompanied by an increase in drinking--can be a sign of renal disease.  It would be wise to have your trusted rabbit vet draw blood to check his BUN and creatinine and other associated kidney values, just to be sure all is well.

You can find a good vet here:

If the bloodwork is fine, then there's probably nothing to worry about.

I hope this helps.
