Question
Hi, my male loop ear rabbit is dropping more fur then usual. I am worry about his health.
Food we feed him are(soya bean, brown rice, wheat, Timothy hay and rabbit food) his favorite food are cereal and chocolate.

Does the food I feed him above causing him to drop fur and can rabbit eat cereals n chocolate ?

Answer
Hi Jinsen

Sorry to hear about your bun.

Chocolate is a massive no, it's poisonous to rabbits the same way it's poison to cats and dogs! No chocolate ever!

Rabbits should also have no reason to eat cereals, rice, wheat or soya beans and I would stop those immediately.

Rabbits need a diet that mostly consists of hay, 80% Timothy hay is great. They only need a handful of rabbit food once a day. They can be supplemented with fresh greens such as basil, spring greens, flat leaf parsley etc, only a small amount though, especially if he's never had it before.

Rabbits do moult quite heavily as they get older but if there is any signs of bald patches, raw skin and/or dandruff I recommend he gets checked out at a vet as there could well be something else going on I.e. fur mites.

Hope I helped. Good luck with your bun!
