Blood in urine/mouth Difficulty breathing

21 17:48:16

Question
My rat is a year old about. She spends all day gasping for air (opening mouth
at every breath) not moving much at all. Mostly, she just lays there and
occasionally eat fruits to keep her hydrated. She eats a little but MUCH
skinner and getting worse (when I hold her, shes lost a lot of weight). When I
hold her, I find that shes urinating brown which I think is blood, because as
she lays her face on my hand, the same brown is secreting from her mouth.
This has been chronic because I've seen her gasp for air months ago but it
came very obvious when she lost the weight (rats look malnutritioned when
skinny like that). My other rat didn't catch any of the illness so I don't think
its viral or the immune system is just stronger I dont know. In a nut shell, my
rat has difficulty breathing to the point where thats all shes focusing on day
to day, and blood secreting, and weight loss.

Your rat is very sick. You did not mention what method of treatment she is on.
If she started this months ago, what treatment did the vet give her at that time?

Its obvious she is suffering. Anyone that gasps is lacking oxygen. SHe needs another vet that will properly treat her.  Please let me know your location so I can give you names of vets that know more about rats than the one your seeing does.

We will get her fixed up but its important she sees someone today as she is suffering greatly.
