fever

Question
How can I tell if my pet rat has a fever?  She just started sneezing quite alot
today, and she feels like she may be a bit warm.  Also, how can I take her
temperature?

You would need to take it rectally and trust me, its not the easiest thing to do. If it inserts too far you can really injure the rat.

Second, rats run high body temps as it is and fever is not really common with them when they are sick.  Is she eating and drinking ok? Do you hear any congestion in her chest or nasal passages?
