Question
QUESTION: Hi i have 1 young rat  who is less than 7 months and she some how came up with a cut on her under side. it is not bleeding and she doesn't appear to be in pain. she is still very active as well. it looks deep and looks like her organs should be hanging out but they're not. I noticed it when i was giving here and my other rats a bath today. i didn't put soap on her because i noticed it before i washed her. what should i do? there are no vets in my area that take rats and i need help fast.
thanks.

ANSWER:
No bleeding? Do you see tissue or muscle?  You need to check her cage right away if you havent already to see if there is something sharp she snagged herself on.

Where are you located? I can find you a vet that sees rats if need be.

Is there a way you can take a photo of it? You can attach it right on here when your done with this message there is a place for you to attach photos. Seeing the large cut would really be helpful!
