rat = swollen hand

hi, just yesterday i noticed that my rat was limping a bit and wasnt using one of her front paws. on closer inspection i saw that her paw was swollen and a bit pinker than her other paw. it also looks as though there are little scratches on the underside of her paw or that the creases in her hand may have been slightly bleeding. im not sure what to do, please help? i love her so much and freak out at the slightest thing.

Check her cage for any foreign objects that may have caused the scratches. if the bedding is wood that may have been it also if your cage is metal check it for anything sticking out. As for the paw, put some neosporien on it and It should be just fine.
