Rats/Tea Tree Oil

My rats have mites I used the Tea Tree Oil and water solution like I was told to do but now my rats keep shaking and falling down. They seem drunk. Did I poison them? They are both 2 years old. I know thats old for rats. I was also wondering if the oil and the bathing was to tramatic for them because of their age. Can you give me a lilttle insite about what they are going through and feeling. I don't want them to suffer but Im running out of ideas. I have them in oopen air and out of the cage. Is it just a matter of time before I lose them?

Who told you to use this?

I cant begin to tell you what they are going through because I have no experience using tea tree oil on my rats. I only suggest approved medications, that when used properly, is safe and effective. Revolution is one of them and is used under the instruction by a qualified Veterinarian.
