Answer
Hi Charlotte,

I am not going to be of much help in some ways and can give you  some answers in others.

The life span of parrots?  It depends on what type of parrot. Some will live only about 8--10 years and others have been documented to live in capitivity up to 100+ years.

The average parrots body temperature is about 40 deg C ( 105 deg F).

The heart of birds is relatively larger and more powerful than that of reptiles and mammals of similar size; perhaps 50-100% larger. The heart of small birds is also proportionately larger than that of larger birds and is related to their respiratory rate.  Heart rate of a canary is about 400-800 and a larger parrot around  200 beats per minute. The average respiration rate is about 12 to 14 breaths per minute at rest.

Here is the address of a site that explains in great detail about a birds respiratory system.

Good luck to you and sorry it took awhile for me to answer. My home computer crashed for good and I do not always have access at work.
