wigglenecking biting parrotlet

Question
Our parrotlet is about two years old and it used to be so sweet.
Now he bites very hard.(draws blood) He started this wiggle
necking ritual where he regurgitated food. His meanness started
around this time too. Now everyone is afraid of him including
me. We handle him with a winter glove on so he won't bite us.
We know he has power over us. He yells if we talk too loud. What
should we do?  Is there hope for him to be his sweet self again? I
used to pet him and watch tv with him on my stomach. This is
the bird we used to love.

Answer
Hi, Laurene.  Thanks for posting.

Well, something had to have happened to cause your parrotlet to revert to being mean.  If you let a parrot get away with everything, including biting, they tend to take over!  Just like a human child, they'll try to get away with everything and you have to control the situation (set the boundaries).  Now you are going to have to "retrain" him and yourselves if you want him to be his sweet self again.

I have a website that has lots of information right up your alley.  Come back with any questions or if you're confused as to what to do next.
