Question
hi there
I am really looking forward to your prompt response ...
I have a pair of quaker parrots (proven to be male and female) I have had them for about 2 months , when i got them they had 3 eggs in the mest but with the moving from one place to the other i was told that the eggs were no good any more so i threw them out ...
I really qwouls like to breed them but i have NOT seen any activity of mating between them..:(  i was wondering ifthis is due to them coming to a new home ...?
I tend to cover them with a big sheet at certain times during the day just to give them some privacy and then i take the blanket off ! .... I have bought them calcium vitamins etc to make sure they are in good condition ,
can you give me advise on how to get them to mate  if thats at all posible? what is the breeding season in a tropical island (Puerto Rico) if that makes a differnce?
Also i was wondering if it is at all true that the best thing to do when you want  the parrots to mate is NOT to move the cage at all .....?
Can you tell me what behavior if any is a sign that they want to  mate ? please give me ALL the details as far as bredding goes    thanx :)

Answer
I think you really need to do some research by reading books and talking to other people that have successfully bred parrots, its not something that should be taken lightly. Do you know anything about genetics or have you got homes lined up for them? Do you know the risks and can you afford an avian vet if something goes wrong? Do you know that you should not supplement the diet as oversupplementation can be very serious? The diet you are feeding should provide them with everything they need, have you discussed this with a vet? Are you only interested in making money?
