Lovebird laying egg

21 16:30:21

Question
I have a lovebird and thought it was a male. Turns out it is a female and just laid an egg and looks like it is going to lay another. They appear to have no living stuff in them when held against the light.

Any suggestions, tips etc to help the bird?

thanks

Answer
No problem. Let her lay and sit on the eggs for as long as she wants to; she'll get bored after a few weeks. Then you can throw them away, but not before as she will just keep on laying if you take them away as she lays them.

Make sure though that she has plenty of calcium in her diet. Cuttle fish bone or crushed egg shell in her seed will be good for this.
