life span of a feed mouse

Question
Hi,
I have a pet mouse who I originally bought to feed to my snake (long story short, the snake wouldn't eat it).  I bought the mouse as a hopper about two weeks ago, and it is male.  He eats really well (an assorted diet of fruit, vegetables, and grains), but I would love to know how long he might live. If you could tell me, I would be most grateful.
Thank you,
Maya

Answer
Pet mice usually live between 6 and 18 months. Feeder mice are interbred which shortens their life span to 3 - 12 months. What you're feeding him sounds great but there is also the option of mouse or hamster food. Mice are social creatures so try to get him a buddy.

Feeding live mice or any live creature to snakes is cruel and is illegal in countries such as the UK. If you must feed snakes mice give them frozen pinkies as the mice will suffer less.
