Question
QUESTION: my mice have been making weird noises since i got back from a holiday at first i thought 1 was pregnant but they are all girls but just the other day i found a wild mice close to my mice cage and since then they have been making odd noises i don't no what is please help me

ANSWER: I don't want to worry you but be prepared for babies. If the wild mouse was a boy and managed to squeeze his way in then expect babies in 19 - 21 days.

Try to catch this wild mouse with a humane mouse trap and release him at least 2 miles from your house.

The weird noise could be a number of things. A chattering of the teeth is a good sign, they may just be pleased to see you. A wheezing sound usually means breathing problems, make sure the cage is away for dust and drafts. High pitched squeaking sometimes occurs when they are pain. If they only make this noise when they are touched in a certain area you should take them to the vet. If this doesn't help contact me again and try to describe the noise and when they make it.

If your mice are pregnant theres nothing you can do. Fortunately they are easy to look after and the offspring can be a delight to raise. If you need help and have any questions regarding pregnancy and babies please feel free to ask.

QUESTION: would i need to get a new cage and do you have to do anything extra. it maybe the wheezing noise as she  makes that noise when i come in my room but she might make that noise all the time but im not sure

Answer
Yes, you would need a separate cage for the boys. Make sure you use wood shavings not sawdust as the tiny particles can cause breathing difficulties. She may have caught a cold or chest infection if the temperature was too low. You should take her to the vet if you are concerned.
