fancy mouse acting weird

A few weeks ago my mouse got out unnoticed, when i went into my room i accidentally stepped on his tail after that day he has not moved it. Now he is hardly moving his back leg correctly, he trips and falls back a lot! his eye is also a little reddish and has an ooze on it. please help i would love to take him to the vet but not sure if i can afford thank you!!!!

Dear Mina,

The mouse must have been injured more than just on his tail.  He definitely needs to go to the vet. He sounds very unhappy.  

You can clean the eye with a Q-tip and some saline a couple of times a day.  

Mice also can get scared at being loose and can actually have a slight personality change.
