Mouse care while on vacation

Hi.  My son has a fancy mouse named Chip.  We will be on a 4 day vacation soon and Chip cannot go with us this time.  Can he safely be left alone for 4 days with a supply of food and extra water?  We may have a mouse-sitter, which would be best, but this may fall through.  If leaving him alone is our only option, will Chip be okay?

It's not ideal, but if you give Chip enough food for twice that time, give him either two water bottles or give him one plus some carrots and celery, making sure the water bottle can't leak into his nest, and be sure the temperature will stay reasonable, you can do it.  

Best to have somebody peek at him once if you can.
