Question
Hi, Natasha i've spoken to you before about my other mouse sutty who had a eye infection, i took your advice and now she is all better, so i hope you can help me again. my mouse mini is a little bit over wieght, i've cut down his food and he has a wheel in his cage, but he just doesnt seem interested in it at all, hes quit old and he used to love to run in his wheel, he would all night :) but now i NEVER see him in it. he also has a ball that i put him in when i'm cleaning him out (about twice a week) but he just sits in it and does nothing. i just wanted to know if you have any ideas about how i could help him lose wieght. He is on his and i know he is a boy so he cann't be pregnant.
Thanks for the advice about sutty it help alot!!!

Answer
Dear Rachel,

Some mice just get fat. It's genetics.  I don't worry about an overweight mouse as long as it is eating only healthy foods. Never ration a mouse's food (unless you are training it).  If he doesn't run in the ball, don't put him in it.  As long as he acts healthy, he should be OK.  If he starts to act sick, it might be that he is growing a tumor or has another problem, but he is probably just fat. I like fat mice because they fill up my hand!

squeaks n giggles,

Natasha
