Questionhello..
we brought back two hermit crabs from out last vacation one was very active the other not so much.. well now (4 weeks later) the very active one isnt moving!! when i touch him or spray water on it he responds very slowly.. and the other crab is now the very active one.. I hope he isnt dying.. any ideas.. i bought some hermit crab food from the store that we purchased the crab at.. he always has water and switched into a bigger shell right after we got home? could he be looking for a bigger shell? do you think he is dying? is city water (treated) ok for them? help... i feed them apples.. carrots and brocl. ?
Answerthe very active one isn't moving!! when i touch him or spray water on it he responds very slowly: They are active at night so he could just be sleeping.
i bought some hermit crab food from the store: STOP feeding that stuff, it has preservatives that can kill your crabs. Feed vegetables and fruits and seared meats only.
How many shells do you have in there? I would give them bottled water only! And aquarium salt water...do not use iodized salt, it will kill them. Oh, and the carrots i would shred them with a potato peeler so they can eat easier.
