Is my guinea pig pregnant????

Question
Hi. My gp is roughly 15 weeks old, and lives with another female gp. Recently I have noticed she is fatter than usual, and her tummy is full of hard bumps. I have also noticed that the bumps are moving!!! We got her from a pet shop at 10 weeks from a pen which only had female gps in it. Is she ill, or is she pregnant?! I have not much experience with pregnancy, as my last pair were both girls, and so, consequently, never got preggie. How do I look after them once they are born as well??!

Answer
Hi
She is pregnant for sure if you feel the babies then she is definitely pregnant
She is a bit young but she should be ok
The mum will look after them when they are born so you don't do anything just make sure that she has cleaned them and the sac is off them otherwise they will suffocate
Make sure you feed the mum lots of vitamin c Such as fruits and vegetables and she will feed the babies
You will need to wean them from there mother at 3-4 weeks and separate the males from the females just incase the male gets pregnant
You will also need to supply the mum with lots of vitamin c now while she is pregnant so they babies are healthy when they come out

She must of had some male contact which worries me, she may be pregnant from her brother which could cause deformities in the babies
So we can only hope not
Hope this has helped good luck
