Question
Hello again... The pups are doing pretty well, but one has an eye that will not open. It seems a little crusty. I tried puting a little bit of warm water on it to help it. Is there anything else I can I can do?

I am happy to say that the pup wandered over to the main nest and she is nursing it again. It is healthy now.

-----Question-----
My dwarf hamster recently had pups (about 3 days ago) and I found one with it's head trapped in a peanut shell with the mother trying to pry it out. I gently peeled it from his head, but I did not touch the baby.  The pup has a slight wound on it's hip from the mother trying to get it out, but it seems fine. She has seperated it from the other pups. The father has been cuddled to it for a few hours, and it is alive, but the mother shows little interest in it. What should I do? Is she going to feed it and save it? Will it die?
-----Answer-----
I am sorry to say but without mothers milk the pup will not survive. This is why they have so many pups because some will not make it. The best thing to do is to do nothing and let nature take its course. I know it's hard to do but it will really take a lot of time and energy to take care of the pup and even then the pup may not live. I would just leave everything be. Mom does know what's best.

That's very good news. I am glad he's living and doing fine.

Answer
Poor pup. Sounds like the pup has a little eye infection or it could be possible that he may not have an eye at all, sometimes it happens. I would consider taking your pup to a vet that way they can give your pup some antibiotics, an if you decide to take that pup in, takethem all in for a check up to make sure that they are all healthy.
