hamsters and there run about balls

i was wondering if they will ever take breaks when in ther erun about ball, because my school is doing invention convention, and i am doing a leash conected to the ball, but still allowing the hamster to run freely.

Yes, hamsters will take breaks to sniff around, wash themselves or many other things, so should be allowed complete freedom to move around. In other words, be careful not to drag him forwards, as he will get grumpy or even injure himself.
