Sobe and Jo-Jo

Question
Hi! I recently wrote you about problems with my girls eating bedding and cage rattling. Jo-Jo has stopped eating things and eats food well now and has gained weight and is way more active!! But Sobe's Cage rattling continues! Today she spent a total of about 6 hours out of her cage playing with me and my son and Jo-Jo and her toys... she wasnt even back in her cage for the night when she started cage rattling started again! I have noticed a pattern though... she is quite attached to my husband... and it is the days when he has either not been home or been too busy to play with her that she cage rattles the most... and if he takes her out of her cage for a minute before he goes to bed and pets and talks to her she stops! I am figuring that she isnt gonna be happy until she has had her attention from daddy! which I find is very sweet! lol but he works a lot and will soon be going to be out of town for 3 months for schooling for work..... do you have any suggestions of what I can do when he cant be here to give her her "daddy time" do you think an article of his clothing in her bed might work?

Answer
Patience - Jo-Jo still needs to get used to the new routine and get out of the cage biting habit.  Sobe will have a harder time because it had been longer for him and a real habit for him.

Trying a t-shirt can help, but patience and keeping both ferrets enriched as much as possible will solve the issues long term.  You will also need to watch that the cage biting doesn't become an attention getter!
