Potty Training at home

Question
my dog is one year old of age. He can't be trained in the house since he would be urinating on the new house's carpet. Though i still want him to be a house's dog because winter is approaching. Is there any way to prevent him from pee/ing in the house when training him to relieve himself outside in the backyard?

Answer
Absolutely, Linh! I've explained how to do this several times. I encourage you to go back through my answered questions for the details, but basically, you should keep him in a crate when you are not home and during the night, and when you ARE home, keep him leashed to you or blocked in the room you are in so that when he starts showing signs of needing to potty, you can take him out. When you take him out, keep him leashed and praise him when he potties.
