Going in Crate

Question
We have a Scottie that is about a year old. We crate her at night in a crate that is about her size.  She consistently will go in her crate.  We have started only feeding her in the morning and that seems to help except for the fact that she wakes up at 2 or 3 hungry or to go to the bathroom.  We try not to go when she whines but if we don't she goes in the crate.  She has a bit of IBS according to the vet and we give her some medicine to go with that but nothing has been a complete cure. Also on a special note she has been known to eat her droppings.

Answer
Matt,

From what you told me make sure this problem is not stemming from her IBS. or IBS meds, as for eating her own stuff your vet will have something for that if you can not stop her yourself.
If she is whining she might be be asking to go out, and once she goes in her crate she might think that is what she needs to do. I would clean out the crate well and start her on a strick feeding and potty schedule, give her plenty of time to relive herself outside and reward when she does.
