Training our animal shelter dog

Hi, I was wondering if you could recommend a book for training a 2  year old animal shelter lab.  He already knows some basic commands and is housebroken but doesn't seem to have any crate or leash training. He also has major anxiety when we leave him alone.  I've found bits and pieces on the internet and in 1 training book that I have but wanted to know if you had any suggestions.

Y0ou can get a DVD and book about animal behavior and training including all the basic commands, how the dog learns and how to be a pack leader for $29.95 post paid from Westwind Kennels LLC, 5317 W 133rd, Crown Point, IN 46307. www.dogkennel.org The DVD shows various dogs getting their first lessons, and also example of common issues, nipping, etc. It emphasises positive training methods, and rally (agility) items you can make at home to mentally challenge the dog and make it fun and interesting.
