Throwing up after drinking

Question
Thank you for your fast response.I have been thinking of your questions and will try to answer them.No she doesn't exercise heavy after eating, just plays around in the house. Actually she throws up part of the time, 3 or 4 times a week. Most of the time she will drink, turn around and start wretching, or drink from the pond, walk a few steps and start throwing up.Doesn't seem to bother her but like I said if her food hasn't digested it comes up also. She was on purina puppy chow when we bought her and did well. The vet said o.k. and she ate that dry. About 6 weeks ago she got finicky and wouldn't eat so waited 3 days and still not so got from the pet store NUTRO MAX,good for dogs that have sensitive stomachs. Ate that right down dry yhen 3 weeks ago didn't want that.I just bought some small packets of meat in juicy gravy and mixed with it. She will eat that.I don't want to create a finicky monster here, where I have to keep changing. NO RAW DIET either.Which is best dry or what? She eats about 2 cups in morning and 2 at night.Should she eat more times per day?Any suggestions would be appreciated.

-----Question-----
I have a 9 month old female airedale and about 3 months ago she started throwing up after she drinks. It doesnt matter if she drinks a cup full or out of our pond.If she has eaten that comes up also.I bought her one of those bottles with a stem that they lick the ball to release the water. That works well but sometimes will even cough after that. The vet says that she is healthy and he sees nothing wrong with her. She actually doesn't gulp her water either. We are just perplexed. Will she ever outgrow this? Before this she drank fine.

Sharon,
Is she exercising after eating?   Are you feeding dry food?
If you are the food is expanding in her stomach and she is then expelling it.  Either feed her less, or limit her water after eating for awhile.  It is dangerous for you to feed dry and then give water, because she can get bloat.  This is horrible and they can die from it.   Also if she is exercising too much after eating the same thing can happen.  Let me know what you are feeding ok.  You may want to go with a better dog food.

Hi,
If you want to see what is happening in your dogs stomach, then wet the dry food in a bowl and wait a half hour.  You will be able to see at that point, how much it is swelling.  This could be the problem,  since this is an Airedale I am going to save you a whole bunch of money.  I have bred wire haired type terriers for 40 years and NEVER had a skin problem no matter what breed I picked to breed.  I also have clued in many customers and they have saved a lot of money by listening to me.
Terriers burn tremendous amounts of energy.  When they use the fat in the dog food they have ingested (which is low in the dog food to satisfy the owners and vets)AND still need more energy, the body starts taking it first out of the hair and then out of the skin.  The terrier will then start chewing big holes in his skin around the tail etc.  The owner then takes the dog to the vet and the vet says "he has allergies lets put him on prednizone (which is terrible for any living creature).
Now I will tell you what to do to save money.  go to the food store and pick up the fattiest chopmeat you can find. Reduce the amount of dog food you are feeding to one half as much and give your dog the microwave meatball in about a half a cup of water.  This can be split to two meals.  Let it sit on the food for a few minutes before you feed.  Now since your pup has not always had this, she will probably have a bit of trouble with this so start off with a half of a teaspoon the first week and go on and increase it slowly.  Each time you increase, do so for a week or until the stool is nice and firm.  See if this decreases the vomiting as well.
I finally showed a vet in Florida that this method worked and now they are all giving the animals omega 3 fatty acids.  I have dogs that came in for grooms with NO HAIR and now I have to demat them.   This was the first vet whoever learned and he gave me credit.  NICE huh?  Well see if this works.  For an Airedale it would be VERY expensive to go the omega 3 way so give her the chopmeat.  Remember, dogs were designed to eat meat, so the next time someone says I don't want to feed my dog people food, tell them that the humans are really eating the dog's food Because we should all be vegitarians.s

Nancy  I'm glad I got you early before you spent a bundle
