Question
QUESTION: Once a puppy has been dewormed. How long when results will be noticable

ANSWER: A dog that is infected with worms needs to be wormed 2-3 times to be sure that all parasites are eliminated. Results will show up fairly quickly unless the dog is wormed for the wrong parasite, which is why the feces should always be examined to determine the exact parasite. If the dog is in a situation where he can easily reinfest himself, then he should be wormed on a regular basis. Whipworm (eggs), for instance, is extremely difficult to remove from the environment, and once infected, a dog nearly always needs to be wormed for that every three months.

QUESTION: I feel that here is more to just a worm problem.I adopted this puppy just on 2 weeks ago.I eventually noticed that she forever pulling her behind on the ground after she had pooed. She was dewormed 0n the 16/4/08.Two days ago I noticed that she was sneezing/coughing as if she wants to vomit, quiet and no appetite and her belly is wollen.Today I took her to the vet. She was dewormed and given an injection, that was at 11h00. It is now 19h30 and there is no improvement.Could there be anything else wrong with her. Is it maybe some other intestinal problem?

Answer
Yes, there could be something else going on, but the vet would have to make that determination.

The scooting on the ground could be her anal glands needing to be expressed. Did you mention the scooting to the vet?

Did they examine a sample of her stools to determine WHAT to treat her for? That should have been the very first thing that was done. Was the injection a regular puppy vaccine for DHPP, or something else?

If you see no improvement by tomorrow morning, I would call the vet up first thing.
