yorkie is house trained,b ut pees every time I leave

Hi! I have a four year old yorkie who is 75% trained to go on pee  pads, but if were not looking, leave or go to sleep he pees on the carpet! I don't think it is a separation issue he does fine when we leave. I'm lost on what it could be or what to do?

Probably the best thing to do would be to crate him when your out,this usually cures this problem,which is common,and it's usually for attention

also ignoring him for ten minutes before going out and after you come home works for a lot of dogs as well,you can let him out when you come home,but no petting ect for ten minutes
