Hair or Fur

I recently adopted a wonderful sheltie.  My doc thinks I might be allergic to him.  Do shelties have hair or fur?  It makes bid difference in terms of allergic reactions apparently.  Thanks.

Um, my best answer is yes?  Shelties have an outer coat and a fine hair under coat.  I would bet that means they have both fur and hair-based on your clarification.  You will get fur "tumbleweeds" in the house if you don't brush them at least weekly and more frequently when the summer shedding hits.

I'm sorry to hear you are allergic.  I hope your doctor can help.
