Question
This is my first litter of pups (American Pittbull) and my females first litter. She had 11, they are now 3 weeks old, big and healthy and perfect, all of their eyes are atleast slightly open, but Maggie (my female) is pretty sore and doesnt feed the pups much.Must they be bottle fed? and what kind of supplement is recommended?

Answer
Hi,

if mom is not feeding the pups. you must take it upon yourself. make sure that all the pups are getting enough milk as this is a large litter and you may end up with a couple unhealthy pups. You must do the research on what type of milk. Here are
Two excellent ones that are available are Esbilac marketed by Pet Ag, which is available at veterinary offices and pet stores and Hartz Advanced Care Puppy Milk Replacement powder available at WalMart Stores.
