labrador retrievers in apartments

Question
Hi, I love labrador retrievers.  My parents have the ideal situation to raise them (3) - a large house in the country.  I live nearby in a small rural town in an apartment.  My parents think it's not a good situation for a lab but I think as long as I could take the dog on plenty of walks, and have her hooked up to a tree to relax outside sometimes, she'd be fine.  What's your experience with lab owners in apartments/towns/cities?  Thanks.

Answer
Hey Robyn!! Right now I'm actually living in an apartment with a Labrador yet the building is for us and I have a huge garden with a pool downstairs so most of the time he spends it there running and playing then in the night we take him up and he sleeps in the house. When the weather gets bad he spends most of the time in the house yet we take him for many long walks. I'd say as long as he can be free and spend most of his energy playing and as long as you are really willing to take him for long walks, it is fine. You have to keep in mind that Labradors are playful dogs and they really have a lot of energy in them and they need lots of love so as long as you can take care of it and spend enough time doing exercise that I wouldn't argue against getting a Labrador. I hope you can use these suggestions and don't forget to keep me updated on how things go for you!!
