German Shepherd Pup Not Eating

Question
I purchased my pup about a month ago and he was right 5 months.  He weighed 34 lbs when i got him but he now weighs about 45 lbs and will be 6 months 7/26.  I'm confident he will gain weight if he starts eating.  The problem is that he doesn't eat?  Any suggestions on what to do to get him to eat?

Answer
Somebody that is familiar with Shepherds needs to look at him.  Maybe the breeder or vet the next time you are in.  It is quite common for young Shepherds not to eat much and even have their ribs show some.  As long as the ribs don't show too much, and you are feeding a meat based chow, Iams, Pro Plan, etc. are fine, leave well enough alone.  The only change I would make would be to switch to an adult chow if you are still feeding a puppy chow.  That slows growth giving him more time to develop the sturdy joints for a long, active life.
