My border collie bit my kid

Question
I have a huge problem, my dogs has bit my 20 month old kid 2 times now on the face both time needing medical treatment. Both time it was a situation of me not watching for a min and the dog had a toy in a small area where he couldn't get away. We have 2 other dog as well, so now I don't know what to do I put him down or try and have him adopted or keep a mussel on him 365 days while he is in the house. He did  has some issue like separation anxiety but that fine now. We live in a city and I know what it take to make him restful so getting someone to adopt him could be hard. He is 5-6 years old and we found him at rest stop and have had him for 4 years. We love the dog but are now torn on what to do.

Love to hear you ideas

Answer
Hello Andrew,
The first thing you must do is make sure that the dog is confined so that the same thing does not happen again. One possibility is crate training.  Crate training will only work if your dog gets exercise and attention.
I recommend you contact a local vet or dog professional to suggest a trainer you can consult with regarding your dogs behavior and possible rehabilitation.  Keep in mind, I have seen rehabilitation training work well with some animals and owners trained together while some situations did not due to the dog not being well suited to the family.  A training professional would be able to best assess your dogs behavior and make suggestions.
