Questionwe have got 10 week old male(samson) border collie and a 17 week old female(sally) border collie sally is being very over playful with samson biting his neck and trying to drag him by his paws we have tried seperating them but they still want to play and cry and bark at each other we don't samson to be hurt by sally any advice would be grateful.

Your best strategy in dealing with an over energetic pup is to take her for a long walk or exercise her before allowing her to play with the younger male. It is also up to you to protect your younger pup by setting boundaries for the female whenever she goes to far in playing with the younger male. Make sure you are there to discipline and carry out your plan consistantly. Know ahead of time what you will accept during play and what you won't. Take time to study both your pups to see how they behave just before going "too far" with the playing. It will help you in getting your timing just right when a correction and protection is needed. A good dog handler can predict bad behavior just by knowing what signs to look for.
